Palestine Regional Wound Care Center Recognized for Clinical Excellence in Patient Satisfaction and Wound Healing Rates
Palestine, TX (May 11, 2026) – Physicians, leaders, and clinicians at Palestine Regional Medical Center (PRMC) are proud to announce that the Palestine Regional Wound Care Center has been awarded both the prestigious Center of Distinction award and the distinguished Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Clinical Excellence Award by Healogics®, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services.
To earn the Center of Distinction Award, PRMC's Wound Care Center achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including a patient satisfaction rate higher than 92 percent. This recognition is a testament to the exceptional care and dedication demonstrated by the Center’s physicians, leaders, and clinicians. For the Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Clinical Excellence Award, the PRMC Wound Care Center has scored in the top 10 percent of eligible Healogics® Wound Care Centers® on the Clinical Excellence measure, which is the Comprehensive Healing Rate weighted by wound mix. This award is named for Dr. Robert A. Warriner III, a pioneer in wound care and the former Chief Medical Officer for Healogics.
“Our team at Palestine Regional is honored to once again be recognized among the very best performers across the country in this challenging and ambitious quality program,” said Doug Holzbog, Market CEO of Palestine Regional Medical Center. “Healogics is the single largest provider of high-quality wound care services throughout the nation, and for our team in Palestine to receive this honor is quite an accomplishment. These awards speak not only to the incredibly high quality of care that we provide here, but also to the dedication of every member of our team in earning this honor yet again.”
The Palestine Regional Wound Care Center is a member of the Healogics network of nearly 600 Wound Care Centers® and offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections, and other chronic wounds.
Wound Care is a critical part of the healing process for East Texas patients. Injuries, surgeries, and some medical conditions result in wounds. Most of the time, these wounds heal on their own or on a timeline that can be anticipated. But sometimes, wounds don’t heal the way they should. There are some people who are far more likely to have wounds that don’t heal well, including people with diabetes, those with poor circulation, nicotine users, and those recovering from surgery or radiation treatments – all issues with a higher prevalence in this region.
Advanced wound care modalities provided by PRMC wound care experts include negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio-engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings, and growth factor therapies. Palestine Regional Wound Care Center also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, an advanced treatment that can help accelerate healing in select chronic wounds by increasing oxygen delivery to affected tissue.
“We appreciate the recognition and the endorsement of our efforts to provide outstanding, compassionate care,” said Kellie Grigsby, RN, Director of the Palestine Regional Wound Care Center. “However, I know I speak for everyone on the team in saying that what is most important about these awards is what they mean to our patients, to the people of Palestine, and to the communities that rely on us for this lifesaving treatment.”
