'Platinum Award' Recipient in 2023 ScionHealth National Quality Strategy
The Platinum Award is the highest honor presented to ScionHealth hospitals as part of the company's rigorous quality program. Only two other ScionHealth hospitals earned top honors for the 2023 year.
Joint Commission Accreditation
PRMC recently earned national quality approval from The Joint Commission through its Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations survey.
To earn this ranking, Palestine Regional participated in a rigorous onsite inspection. Joint Commission members, including experts from the American College of Physicians and the American College of Surgeons, reviewed every aspect of hospital care and operations. Palestine Regional earned a three-year accreditation – the Joint Commission's highest vote of confidence.
The purpose of the survey is to evaluate the organization's compliance with nationally established Joint Commission standards.
Accredited Chest Pain Center
The American College of Cardiology has deemed Palestine Regional Medical Center a Chest Pain Accredited facility. This means we have the capabilities for EMS to transmit EKGs to our Emergency Department, which helps us diagnose and treat life-threatening cardiac conditions (such as a heart attack) more quickly.
Level IV Trauma Center
Level IV trauma certification means Palestine Regional has demonstrated the ability to provide advanced trauma life support (ATLS) prior to transferring patients to a higher level trauma center. This includes having 24-hour emergency services, basic emergency department facilities for ATLS protocols, and a system for transferring patients needing more comprehensive care.
