About Inpatient Rehabilitation

Education, Restoration, Recovery.

After a debilitating illness or injury, you want to regain sound health, confidence, and hope. You want to reclaim your "normal" life with family, friends, work, and leisure.

A significant number of individuals discharged from acute care hospitals face persistent medical and physical challenges necessitating focused attention and treatment. Patients and their families are often advised to undergo a "rehabilitation" process. Contrary to common belief, rehabilitation is not solely defined by exercise and muscle-strengthening activities; it primarily involves education.

The rehabilitation team serves as educators more so than exercise trainers or cheerleaders, imparting valuable knowledge to patients and their families. Their role encompasses guiding patients and families on the most effective ways to regain optimal physical and emotional health, restore mobility, and enhance self-care capabilities.

Wondering if treatment at a Palestine Regional Medical Center is suitable for you? Patients eligible for acute rehabilitation typically:

  • Experience ongoing medical issues requiring extended hospitalization and close physician oversight.
  • Face new disabilities limiting their mobility and self-care abilities.
  • Are capable of actively participating in treatment, tolerating and benefiting from a minimum of three hours of daily physical, occupational, and speech therapy.

A positive attitude plays a very important role in patient progress, as does the comprehensive rehabilitative therapy received.

Unlock the path to successful rehabilitation through your unwavering commitment to giving your best to your therapeutic activities. With focused determination, you have the power to achieve anything you set your mind to. Embrace the journey towards recovery and reclaim your health and well-being. Your dedication is the catalyst for transformative results. Start today, and let your resilience pave the way to a brighter, healthier future.

Therapy Program

Our therapy program encompasses the combination of physical therapy, occupational therapy, and/or speech therapy. The Rehabilitation Team is comprised of highly trained professionals who evaluate each patient during the first few days. Patient participation in these evaluations establishes an assessment of needs; an individualized treatment program to meet these needs is then designed, using both this assessment data along with medical history provided by the physicians.

Outpatient Rehabilitation
